Review of live show at Acme Underground:

I don't even know if this is properly called punk. It's too solid musically to be punk. It has got to be one of the best shows I've ever seen at Acme Underground. They're not the sexiest people to look at, but their music skills are on the par and they are grumpy for real.

What can i say?
A foooookin' superb night all round.

The evening started perfectly with the most yummy pizza i've ever tasted!

The dodgy lookin' donuts were.... erm........... dodgy :-D

Meeting friends and seeing familiar faces at the gig was amazing!

Anyone who decided to give it a miss due to being too tired from a hard day at the office missed a right cracker of a gig!

Simmo reminded me on several occasions that someone from the past past must have really pissed Vamp off as she spat fury and venom on the beckoning crowd! The lyrics biting and very much to the point, channeled in the positive manner they were aired make this little minx an exceptional lead singer with a total in your face stage presence guaranteed to frighten the meekest and weakest in the crowd..

That's enough back slapping and favouratism *wink*

After the excitement of last weeks shows many of the NY AlaRm fraternity gathered at Acme underground for the cd launch party of our second fave band LOKI THE GRUMP fronted by digest regular Michele aka Vamp. This was my first time seeing her perform after having to miss several shows due to other social commitments and I was impressed. A cross between Vice Squad's Beki Bondage and X-Ray Spex Poly Styrene imo Vamp is a great front for the band. All the songs I expected from the demo cd plus several others were rattled off by her tight band and there was even a mini mosh pit courtesy of me (again) and some Coventry fan who claims he was Robbo but he was way too sober to be Robbo imo

Knowing what a bastard I am by missing Vamp off my name check list (along with my travel companion Marshall who no doubt will never let me off missing him off the list too!) Michele dragged me up on stage for a triv question which with help from the rowdy audience I got right to win a goodie bag!

All in all another great night out. Look out for the USA tour coming to a venue near you sometime in 2005!!
